Daily Thoughts 05/04/2015

I checked the Twitter and Facebook this morning.  I also placed an order for new books.

There is a film, The Soloist followed by a panel of Community Mental Health Specialists today from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the community room.  The film was excellent and the presentation by the mental health professionals was on target.

I finished reading The Three Body Problem.  Part of it is about aliens who are seeking a new world to live on and plan on invading earth.  Their world goes through regular cataclysms where civilizations are destroyed.  It is a kind of warning about searching for extraterrestrial life and its consequences.

I have a copy of the New York Times Book Review, several copies of Publishers Weekly, and a copy of Library Journal to read.

I spent some time looking through statistics on Directors Station for the Mount Vernon Public Library.

There is a Fundamentals of Computers Class from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Beginning Microsoft Word Class from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. tonight.

I also spent some time working on my programming schedule for June.

I checked out the book, Sapiens A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari.

Mount Vernon Public Library is Participating in the Give Local Campaign on May 5 and May 6.
